* AMD Radeon HD 8830
* 25 watt TDP
AMD is all set to launch its next APUs that currently have been codenamed Carrizo. All the current Kabini and Beema chips will be swapped with the Carrizo -L accelerated processing units. We have been told that Carrizo-L will be released in December 2014 while the Carrizo mobile APU will be made available to the manufacture in March 2015.
This will put the AMD Carrizo-L processors toe to toe with the entry level Intel’s Celeron and Pentium processors.
The Intel Core M-5Y10 is an ultra low voltage processor with dual cores based on Broadwell architecture. It has TDP of mere 4.5 watts making it ideal for tablets and slim laptops especially 2 in 1 laptops. The Intel Core M 5Y10 processor features an Integrated HD graphics 5300 GPU.
AMD is all set to launch two new processors based on the AM1 socket platform. Right now there are four dual and quad core APUs for the socket but they are all based on the Kabini architecture that feature cores, GPU, memory controller and fusion controller hub on the same chipset.
The Athlon X4 550 is a desktop processor from AMD family that is the first to feature GPU -less architecture.
